For all photo-ID cards, it is important that the image is as sharp and of as good contrast as possible. The PDS software in all our products contains an optimalisation routine that uses AI to evaluate the sharpness and contrast quality of the scanned photo. Thus, a photo that scans in too light will automatically be printed on the photo-ID card somewhat darker and at higher contrast. Because almost all photos of dark-skinned individuals are too dark, these images are automatically brought to a lighter shade so that the features are more easily recognised.
